Actor-Director-Producer Dhanush will be making his debut in Hollywood with The Extraordinary Journey of The Fakir which is directed by Ken Scott. Dhanush plays a rural young Indian in the film and is a journey across the Europe and what transpires in the travel forms the story. The film was premiered at Grand Rex in Paris yesterday and Dhanush received an amazing welcome from the audiences and fans in Paris. A huge crowd of fans gathered at the airport to get a glimpse of Dhanush and take pictures as he arrived in Paris. Audiences at the Grand Rex too applauded post the premiere show showering love on Dhanush and praising his performance.

The film is based on a book with the same title, The Extraordinary Journey of The Fakir, which was released in 2014. The story is about a boy Ajatushatru, played by Dhanush, who is on a journey to find his missing father. The Extraordinary Journey of The Fakir also stars Bérénice Bejo, Barkhad Abdi and Erin Moriarty in important roles.

In director Scott’s words, the film is a story of a young India who comes from Mumbai. “He knows nothing else but his neighbourhood.” According to Scott, working with actors from different cultural background was inspirational. Sharing his experience in a video, Scott said: “I fell in love with the project. Working with Dhanush and other actors from so many different cultures was truly inspiring. We shot in different countries — India, Italy, France, Libya. We wanted to impact these different countries to the main character. Very simply what I tried to do is to get the best out of each actor to find the right balance of drama and comedy.”
