Bollywood actor Vijay Varma, who appeared in Taapsee Pannu and Amitabh Bachchan starrer PINK, is now making his debut in Telugu cinema with MCA which stars Nani in the lead role. Vijay Varma begun his acting career as a theatre artist in Hyderabad and was part of many plays.
Speaking to a leading daily, Vijay Varma confirmed that he has signed the dotted line for his first Telugu cinema. Vijay said that director of MCA Venu Sreeram contacted him through a common friend and that’s how this film worked out for him. “He came to Mumbai to narrate the script, and things fell into place. I am glad to be a part of the film. I can’t reveal much about my character, except that it’s very interesting and powerful. I have begun shooting, though,” said Vijay Varma.
Speaking about if it was easy to say the dialogues in Telugu since he lived in Hyderabad for a long time, Vijay says,” I don’t know Telugu very well but I am taking the time to learn my dialogues as I don’t take prompting.”
Vijay Varma was part of the theater group Sutradhar which is run by actor and theater artist Vinay Varma. Vinay Varma appeared in quite a few Telugu films including Nani‘s Gentleman in which he plays Nivetha Thomas‘s uncle.
MCA features Natural Star Nani and Premam actress Sai Pallavi in the lead roles, and is being directed by Venu Sreeram. The film is being produced by Dil Raju who is known to introduce new talent and try new ideas in the industry. Tag-lined Middle Class Abbayi, MCA will be Nani’s third film in 2017 after Nenu Local with Keerthy Suresh in lead and Ninnu Kori which is releasing on July 7, 2017.
