While much has been happening inside the house of Bigg Boss Telugu 2, a controversy has now surrounded around one of the contestants in the house – Babu Gogineni. According to latest reports, FIR has been filed by Hyderabad police against Babu Gogineni for hurting religious sentiments during one of his speeches at an event before entering the Bigg Boss Telugu 2 show. Reportedly, the police officials were ordered by a local court to file the FIR after one Veera Narayana Chowdary filed a petition with the court stating Babu Gogineni has hurt religious sentiments of Hindu people. Chowdary, who owns an IT firm, has claimed that during one of his speeches at an event, Babu Gogineni has caused disharmony by his words.
“While the Constitution allows you the freedom of speech, there is also a clause which states that your speech should not hurt the sentiments of mass believers. Through his speeches, Babu Gogineni has not only hurt religious sentiments, he has caused a ruckus among people from different religions,” Times of India quoted Veera Narayana Chowdary.
“He is also causing harm to national integration. On his social media page, Gogineni endorsed 26/11 terror attacks mastermind and global terrorist Hafiz Saeed’s views that India has used “water terrorism” against Pakistan. He has also stated that Saudi Arabia is a terrorist nation, which goes against the stand of the Indian government,” Chowdary added further.
The police officials of Madhapur Police Station in Hyderabad have filed the FIR and are waiting for evidences from the petitioner, Chowdary, and will proceed with further investigation in the case based on the evidence. The police officials also say that if they find Babu Gogineni guilty, they will proceed to arrest him even though he is inside Bigg Boss Telugu 2 house. The show organisers nor anyone related to the channel have reacted to this case yet.
