In 2015, Telugu superstar Prabhas became the resident ‘Darling’ of the country when ‘Baahubali’ opened to an awesome response at the box office and received rave reviews along the way. In it, he essayed a double role and proved that he truly is one versatile actor. Nearly two years later, Prabhas fever gripped the nation once again when ‘Baahubali 2’ opened to a phenomenal response at the ticket window and redefined the very tenets of cinema. An SS Rajamouli directorial, it grabbed plenty of attention courtesy its riveting plot and Prabhas’s crackling chemistry with his lovely onscreen lady love Anushka Shetty. Speaking about its success, Bollywood star Deepika Padukone had said that it did a good job of breaking barriers.
“The possibilities are endless and limitless. there is no limit of creativity. Whether it’s us (Deepika & Priyanka) as Indian representing India globally or whether Baahubali, which we understand a regional film that breaking barriers and crossing boundaries from their region and that become such a huge success. That’s exactly what it is. The possibility is endless,” she had added.
Similarly, Salman Khan had said that the film’s success especially in the Hindi belt was quite remarkable.
“The most amazing thing about Baahubali’s success is that the Hindi audiences are so accepting. They have made a Telugu film so large, even though they do not know south heroes apart from three or four of them. South audiences know us there; yet, our films do not do that volume of business because their fans have an extraordinary sense of loyalty to their actors. Fan following is very strong — if there is a Kamal Haasan fan, then he will be a Kamal fan forever; Rajinikanth fan will be a Rajinikanth fan for life,” ‘Bhai’ had added.
With the ‘Baahubali’ juggernaut behind him, Prabhas is currently working on ‘Saaho’. The film is an action-thriller and is being directed by Sujeeth. Prabhas is currently in the US and be travelling to Dubai on January 5 to begin shooting the film’s latest schedule. A high octane chase sequence will be filmed during this schedule and it is likely to be an integral part of the plot. The sequence will feature a moving car and T-town’s ‘Rebel’ has undergone 3-month-long training regime for the same. His regime apparently included jogging, cardiovascular training, weight training, and Plyometrics obstacle races. Quite impressive!.
Besides Prabhas, ‘Saaho’ also has Shraddha Kapoor in the lead. The lovely lady will be making her Tollywood debut with this one and adding a new dimension to her career. Sometime ago, she had said that she is enjoying learning Telugu a lot.
“I am very excited as it’s my first multi-lingual film, to be shot in Telugu and Hindi. It’s a fabulous character and a great story. It’s going to be very challenging as well. You do the same scenes again in two different languages. My Telugu coaching is on and I am enjoying it — it’s fascinating that there are eight different ways that you can say ‘no’ in Telugu,” she had told a lading daily.
Recently, Prabhas had said that Shraddha has a key role in ‘Saaho’ and not just a fleeting appearance.
