National Award winning actor Prakash Raj threatens to return the five National Awards he has received for his acting while speaking about the murder of journalist, Gauri Lankesh, in Bengaluru few days ago. Prakash Raj says that the PM being silent on these issues is not a good sign and has to take action against the people responsible for the murder. Prakash Raj also said that few section of social media are ‘celebrating’ the murder of the journalist and the government’s silence on that is unacceptable.
“Gauri’s killers have not been caught yet. But what is more disappointing is people celebrating her murder over social media spreading hatred. Some of these people who celebrated her murder are followed by our Prime Minister on Twitter. We have a PM who shuts his eyes to this.” Said Prakash Raj while speaking at an event recently.
“When you look at the kind of statements he makes, you don’t understand whether he’s a Chief Minister or a priest. He is a better actor than me. I think I must give out all my five national awards to him,” Prakash Raj added speaking about UP CM Yogi Adityanath.
“I knew Gauri for 30 years. In a sense, we were all children of (P) Lankesh, his ideologies and way of life. I never dreamt that this day would come. We were taught to be honest citizens, who would never seize to raise one’s voice. In fact, I don’t think anyone voiced their opinion more than P Lankesh himself. This was how we were taught to be. It is astonishing to see where we have come to today,” a report in TOI had quoted Prakash Raj.
