Super Star Mahesh Babu is currently in Chennai shooting for his upcoming film SPYder. The film is being directed by A.R. Murugadoss and produced by NV Prasad under the banner NV Entertainments. The makers are planning to release the film in the month of August 2017 which happens to be Mahesh‘s birthday month. The makers had announced that the film will be released on June 23, 2017, but for unknown reasons was postponed indefinitely.
The unit is currently shooting in Chennai for the climax episodes with Mahesh Babu, S J Suryah and Bharath Niwas. This particular schedule was supposed to shot in a hospital in outskirts of Hyderabad. However, rumours were rife that the local politicians staged a protest regarding this and did not allow the shooting of the film to happen there. The protest was not against the movie but against the decision to lease out the hospital for shooting purposes instead of taking care of basic needs of patients.
However, the producer of the film NV Prasad lashed out at all these rumours and clarified it. The producer said that the shooting was shifted away from the hospital because the hospital was in legal issues and hence, they had to shift to a different location. He also added that there were no protests held or any damages caused to the shooting sets.
SPYder has Mahesh Babu playing an intelligence officer and the film is being made in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously. The film has Rakul Preet Singh playing the female lead. SJ Suryah and Bharath of Boys fame will be playing the roles of the antagonist.
