Telugu film industry has long been amidst many kinds of scandals and unwanted limelight which has always tarnished the image of the celebrities of the industry. The latest one to get strike the industry is drugs and substance abuse. The excise department has apparently sent legal notices to Puri Jagannadh, Ravi Teja, Charmme Kaur and Navdeep amongst others who the authorities allege to be involved.
The actors and the directors have been sent legal notices regarding drugs usage and substance abuse, as per reports. “We have given notices to a few persons who we think are involved in drug and substance abuse. We want to record their statements so we have called them to appear before the SIT,” the director of excise department was quoted in a leading daily.
The celebrities have, however, denied all the allegations and have said that they are involved in any kind of such usage. Actor Navdeep posted a message on his Twitter page regarding this which read – “It is usual to sensationalise news as soon as there are film people involved, me being involved in events and working with some wrong event managers i can understand why this happened! its a matter of time before this is sorted .. requesting media and people to have patience 🙂 thankyou :).”
Puri Jagannadh, Charmme, actor Tarun Kumar and Ravi Teja amongst others have come out openly and spoken to the media, and have denied any such involvement. The actors and directors have also said that they will co-operate fully with the authorities investigating the case and are willing for any kind of tests to undergo to be proved as innocents.
