It is no secret that 2017 was a terrific year for actress Raashi Khanna. In September, she received some good news when the action-drama ‘Jai Lava Kusa’ opened to a thunderous response at the box office and garnered rave reviews along the way. Thereafter, the lovely lady made her Mollywood debut with ‘Villain’ and added a new dimension to her career. A crime-thriller, it also featured Malayalam superstar Mohanlal in the lead and did well at the box office despite receiving mixed reviews.
With 2017 behind her, Raashi is currently gearing up for the release of ‘Tholi Prema’. Touted to be a romantic-drama, the film features her in a new avatar and has already created quite a buzz amongst fans courtesy its music. During a recent chat with a leading daily, Raashi spoke about the film and said that it will go a long way in establishing her as a solid performer. She went on to add that this is quite a challenging role for her as she could not relate to the character at all.
“The role I was waiting for came in the form of Varsha in Tholi Prema. It’s always exciting to be part of films where you matter and add value. This is one such character for me. I believe the film will establish me as an actor because I have put in great effort to be a character I couldn’t relate to even at a basic level,” she added.
Raashi also revealed that she underwent a physical transformation for ‘Tholi Prema’ and that was a challenging experience for her.
“It’s not easy to transform into a character physically. I have three different looks since my role spans 19 to 25 years. So I had to put on weight for one of the roles. That did pose continuity issues with my other films,” added Raashi.
Well, we wish her good luck and hope that ‘Tholi Prema’ turns out to be a commercial success.
