Actor Rakul Preet is one of those few personalities in Telugu film industry who has spoken her thoughts out about any burning issue. The latest issue the actor speaks about is the casting couch in Telugu film industry which has been an ongoing saga for more than a month. Actors like Sri Reddy and Madhavi Latha have been accusing many top directors, producers and sons of the producers of exploiting them in exchange of work in films, but never got any opportunity. Rakul Preet, speaking at an event to condemn the abusive language of a TV channel about actresses, had said that she never faced any situation where she felt she was being exploited and was being asked for favours. Rakul also added that she feels very safe in this industry and never had to be worried about.
Slamming these comments, both Madhavi Latha Sri Reddy, have said that Rakul Preet is portraying a pretty picture and not speaking due to fear of losing out on opportunities, according to reports. Sri Reddy, who recently came out in open, said that she had encountered casting couch issues in Telugu film industry and has had harrowing experiences with filmmaker during the shootings of her movies. Sri Reddy has narrated those experiences too but hasn’t taken any names yet. Known for acting in films like Arvind 2 and Nenu Naanna Abadda, Sri Reddy has been vocal for more than month about what she has gone through and why local talent always goes unnoticed. Rakul Preet hasn’t yet reacted to the comments from these actresses.
However, Sri Reddy has now found support in the form of director Teja who, after learning about these incidents, met her a couple of days ago and said that he would give her opportunities in his upcoming films with Nandamuri Balakrishna and Daggubati Venkatesh.
