The forthright filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has confirmed that he would be directing a biopic on yesteryears legendary actor and politician Late N.T.Rama Rao. RGV released an audio clipping on N.T.Rama Rao describing his experiences with him and the kind of personality N.T.Rama Rao is.
The audio clipping had RGV say – “N.T.Rama Rao is a name to reckon with every Telugu-speaking individual. He was not just a great actor but a leader with an unprecedented following. I’m very proud to direct a film on his life.”
Ram Gopal Varma also added, “My personal relationship with him goes back to the year when his blockbuster film Adavi Ramudu had released. I didn’t have money to take the bus to the movie hall. I walked ten kilometers each time and watched the film 23 times.”
RGV also expressed his liking for N.T.Rama Rao and admired his political aspirations too. “I was also one among the lakhs of people who had gathered during his first political meeting, soon after he launched the Telugu Desam Party. From being a faceless guy in that large gathering to getting to direct his life story means something,” said RGV in the audio clipping.
What remains unconfirmed is that whether Balakrishna will play his father’s role in this biopic. An official confirmation in waited for regarding this. But rumours in Telugu film circles are doing rounds that Balakrishna might not essay his father N.T.Rama Rao’s role in the biopic.
