Rana Daggubati and not Venkatesh will play Hiranyakasipa in Gunasekhar’s film

After television, Rana Daggubati will now make his debut in international cinema

If you are a fan of the dashing and macho Rana Daggubati then we have some terrific news in store for you. According to a leading daily, the popular actor will soon be seen roped into play the titular role in Gunasekhar’s mythological drama ‘Hiranyakasipa’. Confirming this, a source said that the highly ambitious project will require a lot of pre-production work.

“After the release of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, director Gunasekhar met the actor and narrated the story. Rana showed enthusiasm and immediately accepted it. In fact, the discussion between Rana and Gunasekhar has been on since the last two months as the film needs a lot of pre-production work,” added the source.

Interestingly, some time ago it was reported that veteran actor Venkatesh would play the lead in this mythological drama. However, according to the source, Venky is not a part of this project but another equally ambitious film.

“Venky’s film is different and is a complete social drama set in a forest backdrop. The subject needs a lot of graphics too,” added the source.

Well, this development is bound to create a buzz amongst fans and we hope that Rana justice to the role of Hiranyakasipa.

On a related note, Rana is going through a terrific phase on the professional front these days. He was last seen in ‘Nene Raju Nene Mantri’ which did well at the box office. It was his third release of the year and also featured Kajal Aggarwal and Catherine Tresa in the lead.
