Actor Rana Daggubati is a busy man with handful of projects across various film industries up his sleeve at the present moment. Rana is currently working on 1945 which is a period film set in the era of Subhash Chandra Indian army. Rana would be seen playing a soldier in the legend’s regiment in that era. Rana will also make his Malayalam debut with another period film which will be based on one of he Kings of Travancore, which was announced recently. And now, according to latest reports, Rana will also feature in the most popular mythological character – Hiranyakashyapa. The film has been titled the same and will be produced by Rana Daggubati’s father Suresh Babu while the directorial responsibilities have been handed to popular filmmaker Gunasekhar. Reportedly, Hiranyakashyapa will be made on a mammoth budget of Rs.180 crores approximately.
“It’s not easy to do this film, because everyone knows the subject and there is already an old classic Bhakta Prahlada. So we have to imagine bigger visuals for this film. We are looking for options to start the shoot as we need to erect big sets for the film,” producer Suresh Babu was quoted as saying by Deccan Chronicle.
The film will have extreme research and pre-production is on at the present moment. “One of the top artistes in India, Mukesh Singh, is drawing mythological places like Vaikuntam and Indralokam as well as Narasimha avatar,” Suresh Babu added further.
Hiranyakashyapa was initially supposed to be shot at a popular studio in London but the makers changed their minds at the last minute. Reportedly, the makers are planning to release the film in multiple languages since mythology is a popular genre in many languages in India. Hiranyakashyapa will be the second collaboration of Gunasekhar and Rana Daggubati after having previously worked on Rudrammadevi.
