According to the latest reports, Telugu star Ram Charan’s latest release Rangasthalam has become a sensation at the US box office and collected $1.82 million through premieres and its two-day run in theatres. In doing so, it has entered the list of top 10 highest grossing films in the US. Given the positive reviews, one can expect its Day 3(Sunday) collections to be even better.
In case you did not know, Rangasthalam is a rural-drama and features Charan in the role of a lively guy named Chitti Babu. In it, he is paired opposite actor Samantha Akkineni and this fresh pairing has created quite a buzz amongst movie goers. Sam plays the role of a village belle in this one and her de-glam avatar is one of the major highlights of Rangasthalam. Directed by Sukumar, it has been praised for its effective performances and is being described as Charan’s best film yet.
During its pre-release event, the ‘Mega Power Star’ had said that shooting for Rangasthalam helped him connect with village life and understand its beauty. ‘
“Rangasthalam gave me the opportunity to appreciate and celebrate what it means to live in a village. Life is so peaceful in a village and we can’t find pure and clean people anywhere else. I kept thinking how much we miss staying in the cities. I need to thank team Rangasthalam and director Sukumar for this life-changing experience and I should admit I discovered a new Ram Charan in this process,” he had added.
With Rangasthalam in theatres, Charan will turn his attention to his film with Boyapati Srinu. He also has SS Rajamouli’s multi-starrer in his kitty. As far as Sam is concerned, she has Mahanati and Irumbu Thirai in her kitty. Mahanati is based on the life of Savitri and will see her essay the role of a journalist while Irumbu Thirai will see her act opposite Vishal.
