Mahanati is the film that has been trending all over the world for obvious reasons and has touched many people emotionally. Audience of all age groups and from various fields have been heaping praises on Mahanati for the way it narrated the life of the iconic actor Savitri. Many celebrities from Telugu film industry have also been appreciating the film and rightly so for the way the film has portrayed her life. And the latest to appreciate the film is Rangasthalam director Sukumar who seems to have been deeply touched with the film. Sukumar wrote a heart touching letter to the director of Mahanati, Nag Ashwin, narrating his experience of watching the film.
“Dear Nag Ashwin, as I came out of the cinema hall after watching your film Mahanati, I picked up my phone to talk to you. And as I was dialling your number, an old lady walked up to me and asked me if I was the director. And I replied saying “Yes”. The moment I said yes, the lady hugged me and told me – “You have shown our Savitri amma very beautifully”. This filled my eyes with tears of happiness. I couldn’t tell her that I was not the director of Mahanati. I accepted all the love she showered on the film. She blessed me and left. And I lived your life for few moments. I cannot find words to narrate my experience of watching Mahanati beyond this,” wrote Sukumar in his letter. Mahanati sure seems to have touched many people who belonged the era of Savitri.
Mahanati stars Keerthy Suresh portraying the legendary actress Savitri while Dulquer Salmaan would be seen playing Gemini Ganesan in it. Samantha Akkineni and Vijay Deverakonda would be seen playing fictional characters in Mahanati while actors like Prakash Raj, Tanikella Bharani, Rajendra Prasad and many others play pivotal roles.
