According to a leading daily, the makers of young star Akhil’s next film are keen to sign Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. They have already given her a narration and the young lady is trying to work out her dates. Confirming this, a source said that Akhil’s film will take off around the same time as the Kirik Party girl’s movie with actor Vijay Deverakonda. As such, it is not known if she will give the nod to it.

“Vijay’s film is set to take off in mid-June for which she has already committed. However, with Akhil’s new film also likely to take off around the same time, Rashmika is trying to accommodate dates for both,” added the source.

In case you did not know, Rashmika made her Tollywood debut this year with Chalo and won hearts. The film was directed by Venky Kudumula and also had Naga Shourya. The film proved to be surprise hit and received rave reviews from critics. While talking about the film, she had said that it helped her relive her college days.

“I play a college goer in the film and we shot at a college in Guntur (AP). Since we shot on campus, I also got to relive my college days. I also tasted the yummy and spicy cuisines of Andhra — the chilly chutney, chicken, masala curry, etc,” she had told a daily.

She had also said that dubbing her lines in Telugu was a challenging but fun experience for her.

“It was a learning experience working for the film. Initially I had difficulties with the language, but later I started improving on it. I really worked hard to get it right. I was very firm from day one that I wanted to dub for my part. It brings authenticity and I can express myself better,” Rashmika had added.

As far as Akhil is concerned, he was last seen in the 2017 release Hello which did well at the box office and helped him find a foothold in the industry. It will be worth watching if his next film does well at the box office.
