According to the latest reports, ‘Mass Maharaja’ Ravi Teja will be stepping into Vijay’s shoes for the eagerly-awaited Telugu remake of the Atlee-directed blockbuster Theri. The film will be helmed by Rabhasa fame Santosh Srinivas and will have the same feel and essence as the original, however, some changes will be made to suit the Tollywood sensibilities. The other exciting update about the remake is that the fast-rising Catherine Tresa will be essaying the role played by Brit beauty Amy Jackson in Theri.
Interestingly, Ravi Teja has played a cop on several occasions. Some of his most notable cop films are SS Rajamouli’s masala-entertainer Vikramarkudu and Touch Chesi Chudu. As such, he could indeed be the right choice for the Theri remake.
Interestingly, 2017 was a good year for Ravi Teja, He made a successful return to the big screen with Raja The Great and gave his fans a reason to rejoice, An action-thriller, it featured him in the role of a visually-impaired but skilled man and did well at the box office. A Deepavali release, it also had Mehreen in the lead.
However, 2018 did not get off to a very good start for Ravi Teja. His Touch Chesi Chudu did not quite live up to expectations and left movie buffs a tad disappointed. The film was an action-comedy and saw him reunite with his Bengal Tiger co-star Raashi Khanna and also had Seerat Kapoor in a key role
While talking about him, she had said that he is a terrific person to work with.
“He’s just as amazing as always and I love working with him. For me, it is a matter of happiness to be in the same frame as him and add value to the scene. He has been dubbing for the film and he recently that he texted to tell me that I have done a brilliant job, at times, even better than him. Coming from him, it really is a big deal,” she had told a daily.
