As earlier we reported, Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor has been roped in for the lead role of the Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy (2017). Telugu film Arjun Reddy was a hit and received a positive response. The Vijay Deverakonda starrer is now in high demand in Bollywood. The Hindi remake rights of the film have been sold at a high amount.
According to media reports, the makers of the film have paid a whopping amount for the remake. A hefty sum of Rs 7 crore have been paid for the same. Usually, remake rights are sold between Rs 2 to 5 crore. However, the remake rights of this Telugu hit have been sold at the unbelievable amount.
Mid-Day quoted a source saying, “Several filmmakers were trying to bag the film’s remake rights. Since it was a blockbuster, the project’s adaptation is highly anticipated. Ashwin Varde and Murad Khetani shelled out a cool Rs 7 crore to the producer for the Hindi version.” However, there has been no comment on the same by the makers of the film.
Reportedly, the adaptation will be helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga who weaved magic with the Telugu original as well. The shooting of the film is expected to go on floors in July. “Since Arjun Reddy was written keeping the Telugu audience’s sensibilities in mind, Sandeep and the producers are currently working on the script to ensure it appeals to the Hindi cinegoer,” added the source.
The makers of the film are planning a very fresh face to star opposite Shahid Kapoor in the film. They have already in talks with the three female ladies.
“They are keen to have a fresh pairing with Shahid. They are in advanced talks with three leading ladies. An announcement can be expected next month,” quoted by the tabloid.
