Samantha Akkineni, who is winning hearts of the audience with her acting skills, finally reacts to the casting couch controversy that has been going on since a very long time. Since the past few weeks, the casting couch has become the hot topic and many celebrities have chosen to react on the same. The latest to react is Samantha Akkineni who says casting couch exists in every industry.

In an interview with Deccan Chronicle, the actress spoke about the casting couch controversy at length. She said, “Not only in films, casting couch is there in every industry. I can’t comment about each and everyone’s virtue or qualities. There will be a few black sheep. But I am working in Tamil and Telugu industry for the last eight years. My first film was a hit and I didn’t have much of a struggle.”

Samantha further said, “I honestly believe from the bottom of my heart that there are lots of good things in the film industry. I have met the most beautiful and helpful human beings in this industry. That’s why I want to continue working in the industry even after I give birth to a child. It is good to note that the government has formed a special cell to look into complaints of sexual exploitation.”

To uninitiated, Sri Reddy’s protest against the existence of casting couch had shaken the industry. Sri Reddy made national headlines when she protested by stripping in front of the Film Chamber of Commerce (Hyderabad) against the sexual exploitation of women by Telugu directors and producers. She had even gone on to reveal the names of the directors, actors, producers who were involved in the same

Talking about Samantha’s professional front, the actress has geared up for the release of Mahanati (Nadigaiyar Thilagam) and Irumbu Thirai on May 9 and May 11 respectively.

Mahanati is one of the most talked about biopic in Tamil and Telugu cinema. The film will showcase the life of the yesteryear Telugu actress Savithri. produced by Swapna Dutt under the banner Vyjayanthi Movies, Mahanati has a stellar star cast. Directed by Nag Ashwin, Mahanati will feature Keerthy Suresh as Savitri while Dulquer Salmaan will be seen playing Gemini Ganesan. The lead role is played by Keerthy Suresh while Samantha plays a journalist. Mahanati is slated to be released on May 9, 2018, worldwide and will be one of the most watched films in Tollywood this year.
