Young actress Samyuktha Hegde, who won a Filmfare in the category of Best Supporting role in her debut film Kirik Party, will reprise her role in the Telugu remake of the film. The Telugu remake of Kirik Party will feature actor Nikhil in the lead role which was originally played by Rakshit Shetty. With this remake, Samyuktha will make her debut in Telugu cinema as well and hopes to make the best use of it.
“The makers liked my performance in the original and thus choose to cast me in the remake as well. I’m thrilled to be breaking into Tollywood and I want to give my 100 per cent,” a report in TOI quoted Samyuktha Hegde.
Samyuktha also says that there might be few changes to her character, Arya, including the name to suit the Telugu audiences. “The filmmakers aren’t sure about retaining the name Arya for the role yet. She is a typical tomboy — like that ‘one girl’ in a gang of five-six boys. In real life too, I’m a ‘less drama and more action’ kind of a girl so I can relate to this character. While the role will remain almost the same in the Telugu version, there will be a touch of ‘girliness’ to it,” said Samyuktha.
Samyuktha was a popular internet sensation because of her dance videos before foraying into films and was offered a role in Kirik Party by the makers looking at the videos. Speaking about it, Samyutkha Hedge says, “I always wanted to be a dancer. Acting was never on my mind, it just happened. I know 12 dance forms, but I’m really good at Bollywood, contemporary, hip hop, ballet and jazz. I’m not sure if I’ll be dancing much in this film, but if I get the chance, it would be great.”
