‘King’ Akkineni Nagarjuna is one of the pioneers of bringing in fashion, style and fitness to the table in Telugu cinema scenes. Nag has been maintaining his fitness levels at his best since his first movie and does the same even today, at 58. Known to be a fitness freak, Nagarjuna once said that it is his fitness which helps him stay current with things in movies and lead a happy life. And now, at the beginning of the new year, Nagarjuna posts a picture on his social networking page showing off his chiselled body. At 58, Nag is fit as ever and is giving the young blood in South Indian cinema a run for their money. This sure is giving us some serious fitness goals. Nag also wrote a text on the picture saying ‘NAG RGV 4’ indicating that he would be seen sporting a fit and trim look in the film.
Akkineni Nagarjuna and Ram Gopal Varma are teaming up after more than two decades for a film and it is currently the focal point of South Indian film circles. The film was officially launched recently at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad and a scene involving Nagarjuna was shot too. The makers had revealed few posters from the film which revealed the look of Akkineni Nagarjuna in the film. Nagarjuna looks intense and ferocious in these posters, raising the expectations around the film. The film is yet to be titled and is being produced by Ram Gopal Varma himself. The makers plan to shoot over the next couple of months and are aiming to release in April 2018.
Speaking at the launch of the film today, Nagarjuna had said that he has complete faith in Ram Gopal Varma and the subject he has come up with. “I have complete faith in Ramu’s script and he believes me too. I’m sure the film will be turn out to be one of the best films in my career. It’s an intense story which will have a Ramu style approach to it,” said Akkineni Nagarjuna.
Many Telugu movie-buffs were surprised at Nagarjuna’s decision to do a film with Ram Gopal Varma since the filmmaker hasn’t had a great run in the last many years. However, Nagarjuna has come out in support of Ram Gopal Varma and said that when he narrated the script to him, he was taken aback with it and agreed to do the film instantly.
Nagarjuna seems confident about the film and had said that the film will be a comeback for Ram Gopal Varma. “Like he narrated the story of ‘Shiva’ to me, Ram Gopal Varma narrated a brilliant story to me recently. I was taken aback by the story. If everything goes well, we will soon team up for a film,” Nagarjuna had said recently.
There were a lot of speculations around who would be playing the female lead in the film and a lot of names were doing rounds including Bollywood actress Tabu. However, director Ram Gopal Varma has now cleared all the air around it and has confirmed the leading actress in the film. RGV took to his social networking page and confirmed that debutante Myra Sareen will be playing the female lead in the film.
