Malayalam megastar Mammootty would be seen playing former Chief Minister Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy in the politician’s biopic which is being directed by young filmmaker Mahi Raghav. Titled Yatra, the biopic will have a slew of top actors from various film industries playing pivotal characters. The shooting of the film began in Hyderabad today and Mammootty has begun shooting for his portions. According to latest reports, veteran actor Suhasini Mani Ratnam has been approached for a crucial role in YSR biopic. News has it that Suhasini has been approached to play Sabita Indra Reddy, former Home Minister of then Andhra Pradesh, who YS Rajasekhar Reddy considered as sister.
Reports are also doing rounds that actor Rao Ramesh has been signed to play the role of K.V.P.Ramachandra Rao in Yatra. K.V.P.Ramachandra was one of the closest aides of Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy and is an important role in the narrative of the life-story of the politician.
Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy was one of the most celebrated politicians in the then Andhra Pradesh and was also the former Chief Minister. A film on his life story has drawn the attention of many and keeping Telugu audience excited about it. To be directed by Mahi Raghav of Anando Bramha fame, Yatra will also star quite a few stars from various film industries making it a star studded one.
Reports are also doing rounds that Tamil top star Suriya has been approached to play a crucial role in the film. However, director Mahi Raghav recently lashed out at all these rumours and said that they still haven’t decided the rest of the cast except Mammootty. Telugu film circles is abuzz that the makers may also approach many top stars in Bollywood too.
