Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna recently confirmed that the biopic on his father and late actor Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao from March 29th, 2018. The shooting will begin in Hyderabad and will have Balakrishna himself playing his father in it. Directed by Teja, the biopic is titled NTR and will portray life of the actor from the time he entered films till he started his political journey. It is being expected that a lot of yesteryear actors will be shown in the biopic which includes Akkineni Nageswar Rao, Jamuna, Savitri, Gummadi and Jaggiah among many others. While all this is happening, reports are doing rounds that the biopic will also have a younger Jr NTR as part of its story. News has it that actor Sharwanand has been roped in to play the younger Jr NTR in the biopic, a development which is yet to be confirmed by the makers. If these rumours turn out to be true, then it will be one of the biggest films in Sharwanand’s career.
The biopic will be made in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi since NTR was a popular figure across India in films and political circles. The makers are yet to reveal the complete cast and crew of the film, which is expected to be announced in the coming days. It is being said that few top actors from various South Indian film industries are being approached for the biopic.
Balakrishna also hinted that the biopic will not portray his entire political journey but will only have few glimpses. The story has been penned down by Teja himself besides donning the director’s role. It is also being reported that the music of the biopic will be rendered by M.M.Keeravani, however, an official confirmation is awaited for. Speaking about is approach for the biopic, director Teja had said that he is himself a huge fan of NTR and will ensure that he gives his 100% for it.
