Actress Shweta Basu Prasad, who is popularly known in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi cinema, finally gets engaged to her longtime boyfriend Rohit Mittal. Yes, known for her role in 2002’s Makdee, the actress is now engaged. Shweta who was last seen in Bollywood film Badrinath Ki Dulhania, takes her relationship a step ahead with Rohit Mittal after dating each other for fours years. And well, Bollywood director-actor-producer Anurag Kashyap played cupid between the couple.
According to media reports, it was Shweta who popped up the question to Rohit. TOI quoted a source as saying, “Gone are the days when women wait for men to make the first move. Though the feeling was mutual, it was Shweta who proposed to Rohit in Goa first. He then proposed her in Pune (his hometown). While marriage is on the cards, the couple is not in a hurry to walk down the aisle.”
The daily spoke to Shweta as she confirmed the news and said: “Yes, it is true. Rohit and I are engaged but both of us are extremely private about our personal lives so we don’t talk about it.”

On the work front, Shweta is currently busy shooting for Vivek Agnihotri’s political thriller, The Takshkent Files. She will be seen sharing screen space with Naseeruddin Shah.
In 2008, Shweta Basu Prasad debuted in Telugu cinema and played her first starring role in the film Kotha Bangaru Lokam, co-starring Varun Sandesh. The film became a large commercial success. She was seen in quite a few films like Kasko, Kalavar King and Nuvvekaddunte Nenakkadunta.
