Wow, SIIMA giving an award for the talented but underrated Varalakshmi is a surprise, considering that they usually award the popular people instead.

I feel like Nayanthara is just handed out awards just because she is present at these award shows. I mean an award for Irumugan, where she was barely there?! She is a good actress no doubt, but Ritika Singh deserved the best actress award, not the best debut. This happened in 2015 too, when Nayan was winning awards left and right for Naanum Rowdy Thaan, unfairly over Nithya Menon’s much more superlative performance in OK Kanmani.

Yeah, she has got awards at the loss of superlative talents like Nithya, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Parvathy. Perks of being super popular.
