On Saturday, while interacting with the media, Telugu star Pawan Kalyan had supported Sri Reddy in her fight against the evil practice of casting couch. However, he had also said that the upcoming actor should have followed proper legal procedures and refrained from sensationalising the whole thing.
Now, Sri Reddy has replied to his remarks. In a heartfelt FB post, she said that she is grateful to PK for speaking on the issue and said the support of such prominent personalities can go a long way in solving the situation. She also stressed that she had registered a police complaint before resorting to her strip protest.
“I am glad that Pawan Kalyan Sir acknowledged the issues related to women, but it is important to note that it is the support of stars/politicians like Pawan Sir that matters in our lives that would compel law enforcement bodies to take action against anti-social activities and atrocities on women irrespective of fields! I have already filed Police complaint but no action yet,” she added.
In case you did not know, a few did days ago, Sri Reddy had stripped in public and accused Tollywood producers of ‘exploiting’ local girls and not giving them work.
“They see the (intimate)videos and give no roles. They have even asked for live nude videos from me. That is the extent to which they go to take advantage of women who seek role. They give roles to actresses imported from Mumbai or others places, whereas we local girls are only sexually exploited on the promise of being given roles,” she had said.
Following her actions, she was barred from MAA. However, the ban was ultimately lifted after the NHRC interfered and wrote a letter to the Telangana government.
It will be worth watching what happens next in this murky case.
