The Sri Reddy row over casting couch is taking a drastic turn each day. Telugu actress Sri Reddy’s semi-nude protest against the unacknowledged casting couch drew a severe backlash from the film fraternity but she, ultimately won the battle when MAA lifted the ban on her.
Following the allegations regarding the casting couch by Sri Reddy, many other small actresses have come out revealing their experiences over the same. In a live TV debate, few actresses have accused that producer Vaakada Appa Rao, who works with Super Good Films, harassed them.
Many of the female junior artists alleged that the producer of Telugu cinema industry, Vakada Appa Rao, used them. One of them revealed that Appa Rao exploited her sexually to give her an opportunity to star in a film while the other accuses that the producer used mother and daughter in order to hike the payment by a thousand, reports Gulte.com.
Vakada Appa Rao was contacted on phone by the TV channel and he imitated ignorance about all of these allegations. He reacted saying that the women artists are putting wrong allegations in order to take revenge as they were not given roles.
During the debate, one woman asked him, “Why is your voice trembling? Are you fearing that your cover will be exposed to Megastar Chiranjeevi and his family with whom you are working closely? Also, Megastar Chiranjeevi sir should respond about this. When such bad things are going on in industry, why are you silent andi?? Come and show your heroism please” she said.
Meanwhile, Sri Reddy has said this is not the end and she will continue her fight. Talking about the recent development in the Sri Reddy row, recently NHRC sent notices to the Telangana government and the Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry over the matter.
Following the National Human Rights Commission’s intervention in the matter, Movie Artists Association (MAA) took the decision and lifted the ban on the actress.
