SS Rajamouli: Not a fan of love stories but enjoyed Tholi Prema

Actor Varun Tej is riding high on the success of his latest outing Tholi Prema which hit the screens on February 10th, 2018. Directed by debutante Venky Atluri, Tholi Prema is a romantic saga and also stars Raashi Khanna in the other lead role. The film is being well lauded and appreciated by all quarters including the critics, and is being termed as a soothing love story. Positive reviews and encouraging word of mouth for Tholi Prema has made the film a super hit making it the biggest hit in Varun Tej’s career. And it to make it more special, Varun Tej received appreciation from one of the biggest filmmakers in Indian – SS Rajamouli. The Baahubali director took to social media and posted an encouraging message for the film. “Not a fan of love stories, but still enjoyed moments in #Tholiprema. Well handled by Venky on debut. Varuntej is building on his strengths. Raashi is beautiful & her performance even better. Congratulations Prasad garu & Bapi. Grand production values and a well deserved success,” wrote Rajamouli in his Twitter post.

Coming from the most celebrated filmmaker of India, this surely will be a special one for the makers of Tholi Prema. Replying to him, a happy Varun Tej said it really meant a lot for him coming from Rajamouli. Varun replied – “Sir! This coming from you is a big deal!! Thank you so much for the encouragement!

Both, Varun Tej and Raashi Khanna, are being well appreciated for their performance in the film by audiences and critics from all around. Tholi Prema has been doing very well at the box office too raking in some good numbers at the ticket window. The first day of release of Tholi Prema saw a collection of Rs.9.5 crores in the Indian market. The film had crossed $200,000 at the US market even before the release and these collections were from the premiere shows before the release.
