Anando Brahma starring Taapsee Pannu in the lead role is a horror-comedy flick that released on August 18th, 2017. Set in a haunted house, the film revolves around four characters with some flaws and in an entertaining twist, the ghosts in the film are afraid of humans and this angle has worked wonders for the film at the box office. Anando Brahma will now be remade in multiple languages according to director Mahi Raghav.
“The film is doing extremely well. We are very pleased with the response. We have already been approached for the remake from all the southern languages and Bollywood as well. The process will take a few more weeks,” Raghav told a leading news agency. Produced by 70 MM Entertainments, Anando Brahma also stars Vennela Kishore, Shakalaka Shankar, Srinivas Reddy and Tagubothu Ramesh.
Taapsee Pannu appeared in a Telugu film after a long gap and her comeback film, Anando Brahma has turned out to be a super hit flick. Speaking about the film, Taapsee had said, “It has an unconventional storyline in a very conventional genre. Horror-comedy is something that is exploited to death in the South. I have myself been a part of such films. However, the concept of ‘Anando Brahma’ was so out of the box that I said yes to it after the first line itself.”
And according to the film’s US distributor Nirvana Cinemas, “Anando Brahma” has minted $300,000 from its opening weekend. With the film turning out to be a successful one, the makers are now looking to make it in other languages too.
