Bollywood will witness another remake, Ittefaq which is a remake of the 1969 film with same title, and will be releasing this week worldwide. The remake stars Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles and is directed by Abhay Chopra. It is now being said that the film might be remade in Telugu after a few producers from South approached the makers of ‘Ittefaq’ for the remake rights of the film. According to report in a leading tabloid, the makers of the Bollywood film might get convinced to give the rights to the south makers after the film releases since they are confident that the film will do well.
“Abhay Chopra and Juno Chopra have been approached by a few South makers to sell the rights of their film. They want to remake the film in Telugu. Abhay and Juno have had several discussions and are also keen to give the producers the right to remake,” a report in a leading daily quoted the makers of ‘Ittefaq’.
The new version of ‘Ittefaq’ is said to be a thriller with a modern-era twist to it and the makers are taking extreme care in the promotions of the film. However, they have confirmed that they will not make the film in south themselves. “Abhay and Juno won’t be making the film down South. Filmmakers from South have loved the promos and shown interest in the modern, more contemporary storyline,” the report further added. Ittefaq is releasing this Friday, November 3, 2017 worldwide.
