In a heartbreaking news, daughter of a Telugu film actress, Annapurna allegedly committed suicide at her home in Hyderabad on Saturday. According to media reports, identified as Keerthi, the daughter of yesteryear actress Annapurna, committed suicide on Saturday morning by hanging herself by a ceiling fan.
“Keerthi who is around 35 years old has committed suicide by hanging herself to death at her residence,” said KS Rao, ACP Banjara hills Division. Reportedly, Keerthi, 35, committed suicide due to health issues. However, the police are still investigating the matter and her body has been shifted to Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem. Police have also seized the mobile phone of Keerthi in order, to begin with, the investigation.
A case has been registered under section 174 of The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Police to inquire and report on suicide, etc.) at Banjarahills police station in the city. Further investigation is on.
Annapurna’s daughter Keerthi was married for over three years and had a child. Reports suggest that Keerthi had been living apart from her husband.
In the other news, it is being said that Keerthi’s husband returned home from work at around 2 AM on Friday. He slept in the other room while his wife was sleeping in the other. The next morning, he was shocked to find his wife hanging from the fan. He immediately called Annapurna to inform about this incident.

Annapurna is well remembered for her character roles in Samsaram Oka Chadarangam, Muthyamantha Muddu, Swargam Narakam, Assembly Rowdy and acted in almost all of the 1980s movies with Chiranjeevi as the lead hero.
She also acted in Tamil movies such as Nadodi Pattukkaran, and Varavu Nalla Uravu etc. and in Hindi movies such as Waqt Ka Shahenshah, and Kanoon Ki Hathkadee. With a couple of years gap, she started her second innings in 2007 with Telugu movies Evadithe Nakenti and Godava as mother and grandmother respectively.
