Actor Nandamuri Kalyanram will next be seen in a political drama titled MLA which is captioned Manchi Lakshanalunna Abbayi, meaning a man with good characteristics. Directed by newcomer Upendra Madhav, MLA also stars Kajal Aggarwal as the leading lady and will reunite with her first co-star, Kalyanram. The makers have released a trailer of the film which indicates that the film will be a commercial potboiler and will have a political backdrop to it. Ravi Kishan will be seen playing the antagonist in the film while Vennela Kishore, Ajay, Posani Krishna Murali and Manali Rathod will be seen playing important roles. Produced by Bharat Chowdary and Kiran Reddy, MLA will have music by Mani Sharma while cinematography is handled by Prasad Murella. Watch the trailer here:
Kalyanram hasn’t had a release since ISM with Puri Jagannadh. Many say that he waited for the right script but never got one. Kalyanram will also be seen in a romantic saga titled Naa Nuvve which is being directed by Jayendra. The film also stars Tamannaah Bhatia as the leading lady and is said to be a romantic drama. The makers had released the teaser of the film recently which received an overwhelming response from audiences.
MLA is being directed by Upendra Madhav who is an erstwhile associate of director Anil Ravipudi. Kalyanram and Kajal Aggarwal acted together in the latter’s debut movie, Lakshmi Kalyanam, which was directed by Teja. The film was a decent success and made inroads for Kajal Aggarwal in Telugu and Tamil film industries.
The producers, during the launch of the film, had said, “This is a full length family entertainer that will be a memorable film in hero Kalyan Ram’s career. Debut director Upendra has come up with a very interesting script and the scenes are very fresh. Regular shooting will start from June 9th and we are planning to release the film towards the end of the year.” MLA also features veteran actor Bramhanandam as well, who hasn’t appeared in many films in the recent past.
