Mahesh Babu’s Bharat Ane Nenu is a week away from hitting the big screens and fans of the superstar are gearing up excitedly for the big day. Directed by Siva Koratala, Bharat Ane Nenu will have Mahesh Babu playing a Chief Minster role which will be his first ever attempt at such politically themed character. The teaser released by the makers few weeks ago gave us a glimpse of what could the story be all about and why Bharat Ane Nenu will be the biggest release in Mahesh Babu’s career. The superstar says that they only have tried to give a perspective from social awareness viewpoint and Bharat Ane Nenu may bring some awareness among people. “Entertainment or infotainment, if you give the audience the content the way you want them to watch it, it’s going to help bring about awareness or change. I don’t believe that I can change everything or eradicate anything with a film or two, but I want to give a perspective. That is what we have tried to do with Bharat Ane Nenu,” Mahesh Babu told Decan Chronicle in an interview.

Speaking about why he accepted Bharat Ane Nenu and agreed to play the CM, Mahesh says that cinema is a great medium to convey a message and the film has the potential to bring about change in the mindsets. “It has become very important for each one us to have a national conscience, social sensitivity and a certain amount of strength to speak. And cinema is a great medium to do that. I am not trying to force social responsibility on the audience but definitely trying to give a perspective. Bharat Ane Nenu is a film that will make you think in a certain way, a good way,” Mahesh Babu added.

Mahesh Babu also spoke his point about the varied content that is being made in Telugu cinema and says that its great to see things advancing in the right way. “It’s great that such varied, diverse and relevant subjects are evolving at such a magnitude in Telugu cinema. Baahubali and Arjun Reddy are two contrasting films that I personally loved a lot. Stories are changing, the narration is changing and the audience is liking it. It’s a win-win situation. I think it’s great,” the superstar said.

Bharat Ane Nenu is slated to be released on April 20, 2018 and also stars Kiara Advani as the leading lady marking her debut in Telugu cinema.
