January this year saw the clash of two films = Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyathavaasi and Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Jai Simha. Both the films turned out to be duds disappointing fans and failing at the box office. Pawan Kalyan Agnyathavaasi had a bigger impact, in terms of losses, since there were huge expectations on the film. However, Agnyathavaasi turned out to be one of the biggest disasters in both Pawan Kalyan and Trivikram Srinivas’ careers. Both of them were tight-lipped about the repercussions of the film and did not react to the response of the film. While Pawan Kalyan got busy with his political journey, Trivikram Srinivas moved on to his next film with Jr NTR. But the director has now reacted to the disastrous response to Agnyathavaasi and what they did to cover the losses for the distributors.
“Pawan, I and the producer settled Rs 25 crore losses to the distributors even before they could come and ask us. We didn’t do it because we’re some great people; we did it because we felt that was the right thing to do. It was Pawan’s idea to not celebrate at the expense of others and hence we settled the losses,” Trivikram Srinivas told a leading Telugu daily.
Trivikram Srinivas also spoke about how the film affected him and how things changed. “I’d be lying if I said the failure didn’t affect me. It did to a great extent. I was disappointed with myself. On my new project, I’m working with more care, passion and discipline,” Trivikram added further.
Trivikram has now moved on and is focusing completely o his upcoming film with Jr NTR which is titled Aravindha Sametha. Speaking about it, he adds, “His commitment to get into this physique for the character was really amazing. There was lot of pain and dedication required to get into this avatar. There were days where he had to take 15 liters of water a day and there were some days where he had only 2 liters of water.”
