After the Telangana Excise Department officials sent notices to many celebrities from the Telugu film industry, Puri Jagannadh was the first one to appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT). Puri Jagannadh entered the office at 10 AM and left late in the evening from there. According to reports, Puri was questioned by the officials in connection with the Tollywood drugs case from all perspectives and even collected his blood samples.

After the grilling session, Puri Jagannadh posted a video on his social networking page speaking for the first time after his name appeared in the list of the Tollywood drugs case. “As summoned by the officials, I appeared before the SIT today and answered all their questions. I told them I do not know who Calvin is, I haven’t ever met him and do not have relations with him. If called by the officials again, I will go and appear before them,” said Puri Jagannadh in the video.

“I’m a very responsible person. I have never tried or used drugs in my life and neither will I do it in the future,” added Puri Jagannadh.

Puri also mentioned that he is upset with few media personnel for sensationalising the whole issue. “I have many friends in the media and we often meet up over a coffee. But the way this whole drug issue was portrayed on television, it has now ruined many lives. My parents, my wife and my kids have been crying and are upset with the whole issue. Honestly, the media has hurt me a lot. If I’m guilty, SIT officials wil decide what needs to be done,” said an upset Puri Jagannadh.
