Actor Varun Tej would be banking on his upcoming release Fidaa for a hit which is releasing today worldwide. Fidaa is releasing today worldwide and even before the release, the film has received a huge hype courtesy the director Sekhar Kammula. Popular for narrating heart-touching and sober stories, Sekhar Kammula has been away from the release-date hungama for a while now. Fidaa might turn out to be a litmus test for Varun Tej since he hasn’t had a major hit in his career so far.
Barring Kanche, rest of his films all have not done greatly and this puts a lot of pressure on the young lad of the Mega family. But Varun seems to be quite confident about the film as he spoke during the promotions of the film. “The way Sekhar sir has treated the film’s climax, which breaks the tradition of how marriage is viewed in our society, made me fall in love with the film. I could call it my ‘Fidaa’ moment of the film. I was moved by the climax and I’m sure audiences will love it too,” Varun said during one of the interviews while promoting Fidaa.
Sekhar Kammula also seems to be very confident about the film doing very well. Speaking to a leading daily, Sekhar said he had been etching on the film’s idea for a while now. “The idea has been there for a while. I wanted to do a story set in the US. I have an admiration for the US where I spent a few years studying and working. Stereotyping creeps in when one looks at NRI characters in our cinema, which I wanted to steer clear of. It’s been a while since I presented a love story,” said Sekhar Kammula.
