Varun Tej teams up with director Sagar Chandra of Appatlo Okadundevadu fame

Actor Varun Tej is currently riding high on the success of his latest outing Tholiprema which was one of the biggest hits in Telugu cinema this year. A romantic drama, Tholiprema starred Varun Tej and Raashi Khanna as the lead pair and was directed by debutante director Venky Atluri. After Fidaa, Tholiprema got added to the list of hits of Varun Tej in consecutive years. Varun Tej is currently prepping up for his upcoming sci-fi film with Sankalp Reddy of Ghazi fame and will have the actor playing an astronaut. The shooting of the film is yet to begin and the actor has already signed his next after this sci-fi film. Varun Tej will next team up with Sagar Chandra who made Appatlo Okadundevadu with Nara Rohit in the lead. Even though the film wasn’t a great hit, the story and the performances were lauded by few sections of audiences and critics. The film is yet to be titled and will be produced by Ram Achanta and Gopi Achanta under their banner 14 Reels Plus. The film is yet to be titled and the announcement was made official on the auspicious occasion of Ugadi.

Tholiprema had Varun Tej playing a young man who has an interesting journey with his love life and which has its own twists and turns. Speaking about why he chose to do a love story again after Fidaa, Varun had said that the director Venky Atluri’s perception and presentation of love in the story was different, and that made him go for it. “People must be wondering why I’m doing two back-to-back love stories. Venky’s love story is very different and that’s why I didn’t mind doing these films in succession. Both of these films have their own charm. Even though Fidaa was a love story, Sekhar’s touch and presentation made it stand out. Similarly, Venky has perceived love so differently and that’s what makes his film different,” Varun had said recently speaking about Tholi Prema.
