According to a leading news agency, Pushkar-Gayathri’s highly successful ‘Vikram Vedha’– which hit screens on July 21—will soon be remade in Telugu. And, if all goes as planned, the attempted remake will feature Rana Daggubati and veteran actor Venkatesh in the lead. Confirming this, a source told the agency that the stars have indeed been approached for the film, however, nothing has been finalised yet.
“Talks have been initiated with Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh for Telugu remake. They were the first choice even before the release of ‘Vikram Vedha’. However, nothing has been finalised yet and the process might take a few more months,” added the source.
Speaking on the topic, Vikram Vedha’s producer Shashikanth said that talks are underway but refused to give out any specific details.
“Too early to talk about the remake. But yes, talks are on for the remake. But nothing has been confirmed yet,” he added.
In case you did not know, ‘Vikram Vedha’ is crime-thriller and is based on the stories of Vikram and Betaal. It features R Madhavan in the role of a cop while the talented Vijay Sethupathi plays the role of a gangster. Given this relatable plot, ‘Vikram Vedha’ definitely has the potential to work in all languages. It will be worth watching if Telugu version ends up living up to expectations.
