Venkatesh Daggubati is one of the actors in South Indian many of whose films have been remade in Bollywood and other South Indian languages. And the actor himself has featured in remakes of many Bollywood and other language films, his recent one being ‘Guru’ which is remake of the Tamil hit ‘Irudhi Suttru’ starring R. Madhavan. And the latest buzz in the film circles is that Venkatesh is considering the remake of recent Bollywood film ‘Hindi Medium’ starring Irrfan Khan in the lead role.
News has it that Venkatesh has expressed interest in featuring in the remake of the film and popular director Nandini Reddy is working on the script for the remake. Venkatesh will take a call once the script is ready and will further works will begin thereafter. Interestingly, ‘Hindi Medium’ is a remake of Malayalam hit ‘Salt Mango Tree’ which featured Biju Menon, Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli and Suhasini Maniratnam, directed by Rajesh Nair. ‘Hindi Medium’ is one of the biggest hits of Bollywood in the recent past having collected more than INR 100 crores at the box office. ‘Hindi Medium’ was all about education system and connected well with the audience.
Meanwhile, Venkatesh was said to be teaming up with Bhaskar, who had directed Bommarillu, for a family oriented subject and had heard a narration too. However, nothing materialised there and Venkatesh is keen on working of ‘Hindi Medium’ which will get added to the list of remakes he has featured in.
