Telugu film industry is rocked with the drugs issue after the excise department tightened the screws by announcing that they have a list which includes top actors and directors. The film industry was in a shock when some prominent names including actor Ravi Teja, director Puri Jagannadh and actress Charmme Kaur among others were alleged to be using drugs and other banned substances. But these celebrities have denied all the allegations and have said that they have never gotten into any such addiction or substance usage.
While all this was happening, veteran actor Bhanu Chander came out in open and admitted that he was addicted to drugs in the past and quit that habit by indulging into a different lifestyle. Speaking a leading Telugu daily, Bhanu Chander said, “If it is proved that these actors are doing drugs, it is a huge shame. Trying something which you know will burn your hands is foolish.”
“Everything looks fancy in the beginning when you start doing drugs but as the drug effect starts fading, that when people will start going into depression and will make them take more drugs. Drugs will ruin a person’s life and career,” added Bhanu Chander.
Bhanu Chander also said that it is tough to come out of this habit, but if determined one can easily come out. “Thirty years ago, I was addicted to drugs. To quit doing drugs, my brother suggested that I should get into martial arts and on his suggestion, and I did join martial arts. I started seeing results within a week. I suggest the same thing to these young actors. Turn to martial arts or any other fitness form which will help you overcome all these unwanted habits. I can assure you on that,” said the actor.
