Last year, Bollywood star Vivek Oberoi made his Kollywood debut with Vivegam and added a new dimension to his career. In the spy-thriller, he was seen alongside Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar and did justice to his role. Talking about working with ‘Thala’, he had said that it was a terrific learning experience for him.
“I was so touched by the genuine affection that I became emotional after the shoot was wrapped up. Finally, the humility of a big star like Ajith anna — the way he behaved and his warm nature made me feel like he was my elder brother. When I say Ajith anna, I really mean it,” he had told a leading daily.
With Vivegam and 2017 behind him, the actor is working on his upcoming Telugu film with Ram Charan. And, it seems that he is being paid a bomb for it. According to a leading daily, Oberoi is being Rs 3 crore for his part in the same. Confirming this, a source said that director Boyapati Srinu feels that he can really add a new dimension to the film.
“Yes, Vivek Oberoi was paid a whopping amount because his role is crucial in the film’s narrative. The director believes that the actor can raise the bar and bring in a new perspective with his acting prowess like he did in Raktha Charitra,” added the source.
Well, we are happy for Oberoi and hope that he delivers a solid performance in this one.
On a related note, this is a busy time for Ram Charan. Besides the Boyapati Srinu film, he also has Rangasthalam in his kitty. It is romantic-drama and has been directed by Sukumar. In it, the ‘Mega Powerstar’ will be seen alongside the much-loved Samantha Akkineni. If all goes as planned, the film will hit screens in March.
