Samantha Akkineni is on a roll in 2018 with a hattrick of hits in her kitty – Rangasthalam, Mahanati and Irumbu Thirai. And the pretty actress is gearing up for the release of her upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual U-Turn. A remake of Kannada hit with the same title, U-Turn will have Samantha Akkineni playing a journalist solving a mystery. Directed Pawan Kumar, the shooting of the film is nearing completion and the post-production works have begun. Samantha Akkineni has started dubbing for her role in the film, a thing which she has started with Mahanati. And while she is dubbing for U-Turn, director Pawan Kumar reacts to the number of takes the actress takes, of course in a funny way. Watch the video here:
According to latest reports, the first look and title poster of the film may soon be unveiled by the makers. Besides Samantha Akkineni, U-Turn remakes also stars Aadhi Pinisetty, Rahul Ravindran and Bhumika Chawla in pivotal roles.
The makers are yet to title the remakes and are considering to retain the same. Samantha Akkineni will be playing the journalist in the film who tries investigate and write a story for her publication but instead gets trapped in the whole situation. The makers recently shot for important at a police station set built at a studio in Hyderabad.
The original Kannada film U-Turn featured Shraddha Srinath in the lead role and was one of the bigger hits in Kannada in the recent past. “The cast comprises of Samantha, Aadhi and Rahul Ravindran in vital roles while camera cranked by Niketh Bommi. Additionally, we have actor Naren playing a crucial role as well as Bhumika Chawla who comes in as the surprise element in the movie. The team is going overboard to recreate the original magic and I am confident that we can definitely do it,” director Pawan Kumar had said recently.
