Ram Gopal Varma is one filmmaker who can leave the audiences startled and amazed with his work, speech and action irrespective of one being a fan of his work or not. Ram Gopal Varma is the kind of personality who doesn’t hesitate from speaking his mind out. RGV has always come up with stories which has caught attention of people, irrespective of the genre he picks up. RGV ventured into the digital segment with a web series titled ‘Guns n Thighs’ and as always was the focal point of audiences for a while. And now, Ram Gopal Varma has come up with another web series and this time in Telugu titled ‘Kadapa’. RGV released the trailer of the web series today and the web series gives a glimpse of the kind of faction and violence existed in the Rayalaseema region in Andhra Pradesh many years ago. Ram Gopal Varma gives a voice over to the trailer which says that the stories and incidents are true and are based on real life incidents, and they are not fictional.

Kadapa is a town in the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh and is one of the places where there were factions seeking revenge from each other over numerous issues which not many are even aware of in today’s world. Ramu narrates the horrifying incidents that had happened back then and claims that these were real life incidents that will be shown in the web series. The trailer gives us a glimpse of what can be expected from the web series which seems to be filled with violence, ruthlessness and abusive conversations based in the region of Rayalaseema in Andhra Pradesh. The web series, ‘Kadapa’, is said to be the first international web series and will be totally in Telugu with sub titles to it. Besides the web series ‘Kadapa’, RGV has a feature film too in Telugu which has Akkineni Nagarjuna in the lead role. The film was officially launched today at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad and a scene involving Nagarjuna was shot too. The makers had revealed few posters from the film which reveal the look of Akkineni Nagarjuna in the film. Nagarjuna looks intense and ferocious in these posters, raising the expectations around the film. The film is yet to be titled and is being produced by Ram Gopal Varma himself. The makers plan to shoot over the next couple of months and are aiming to release in April 2018.

Speaking at the launch of the film today, Nagarjuna said that he has complete faith in Ram Gopal Varma and the subject he has come up with. “I have complete faith in Ramu’s script and he believes me too. I’m sure the film will be turn out to be one of the best films in my career. It’s an intense story which will have a Ramu style approach to it,” said Akkineni Nagarjuna.

Many Telugu movie-buffs were surprised at Nagarjuna’s decision to do a film with Ram Gopal Varma since the filmmaker hasn’t had a great run in the last many years. However, Nagarjuna has come out in support of Ram Gopal Varma and said that when he narrated the script to him, he was taken aback with it and agreed to do the film instantly.

There were a lot of speculations around who would be playing the female lead in the film and a lot of names were doing rounds including Bollywood actress Tabu. However, director Ram Gopal Varma has now cleared all the air around it and has confirmed the leading actress in the film. RGV took to his social networking page and confirmed that debutante Myra Sareen will be playing the female lead in the film.

The film is being produced by Ram Gopal Varma himself under the banner ‘Company’ and is yet to be titled. Nagarjuna had confirmed that he will be playing a cop in the film and the story is an intense one. Just a day before the shoot, Ramu had posted an emotional message about the film which read, “My first film Shiva was inaugurated by my father and Akkineni Nageshwara Rao garu and my new film’s opening will be done by my mother and my first producers Akkineni Venket and Yarlagadda Surendra. Yes, I also get emotional and sentimental once every three decades.” The makers are yet to announce the details of the rest of the cast in the film which are expected to be revealed in coming few days.
