2017 witnessed one of the path-breaking Telugu films hit the screens which changed the way the way films are made and also changed the audience’s perspective – Arjun Reddy starring Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey. The title itself screams of mania which took down the young crowd of the nation by its storm and went on to become one of the biggest hits of 2017. Arjun Reddy is now being remade in Tamil with Dhruv, son of actor Vikram, and will be directed by acclaimed filmmaker Bala. The pre-production of the film is underway and the shooting of the film will soon begin. There were reports doing rounds that Arjun Reddy will be remade in Hindi too and the makers have approached Ranveer Singh to play the lead role in it. But nothing much was heard since then about the Hindi remake. Reports ate now doing rounds that Ranveer Singh hasn’t shown much interest in it and the makers are contemplating to rope in Varun Dhawan. The rights of the Hindi remake are owned by Sajid Nadiadwala who produced Varun’s last release Judwaa 2. If Varun Dhawan agrees to come onboard for the remake of Arjun Reddy, it will bring the duo back again after Judwaa 2.
“The film is currently being scripted and will be amended to suit Bollywood’s audience. It revolves around a philandering, alcoholic, drug addict, a surgeon who falls in love with an innocent medical student. Dhawan, who is currently busy with YRF’s Sui Dhaaga, will have to sport a leaner look for the part,” a source said. It is being said that the Hindi remake too will be directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga who wrote and directed the original Telugu one. An official confirmation regarding this waited for from the makers. Varun Dhawan, besides Sui Dhaaga, also has ‘October’ in his kitty which is being directed by Shoojit Sarcar.
