Yatra Pre-look: Here is the pre-look of the YSR biopic starring Mammootty

The much-loved and legendary Mammootty is arguably one of the most iconic names in the history of Malayalam cinema. During his highly eventful career that spans over four decades, the National award winner has won the love of fans courtesy his evergreen personality, effective performances and tremendous range as an actor. Moreover, over the years, he has been a part of several popular films and proved that he is the heart and soul of the Malayalam film industry.

Now, there is some exciting info for the ‘Mammmuka Army’. As it so happens, the pre-look of his highly ambitious Yatra has been released and more details about the film will be revealed soon.

For the uninitiated, Yatra is based on the life of former Andhra CM YSR and will see Mammootty play a character modeled on the mass leader. It is going to highlight his famous Padyathra and highlight the unknown side of his life. The film is going to be helmed by Anando Brahma fame Mahi Raghav. A while ago, he had said that the film will be shot on a lavish scale.

“Yes, Mammootty sir has agreed to do the lead role. The film will be made on a lavish scale and a lot of homework will go into it. I’ll be meeting Mammootty sir soon and we will work on the characterisation together,” he had added.

Interestingly, it has also been reported/rumoured that Nayanthara will be playing Mammootty’s wife while Suriya will be essaying a character based on YSR’s soon Jagan. Previously, the director had dismissed these rumours and said that things have not been finalised yet.

“No! Those rumours are completely false. We haven’t approached anybody else yet. So far, my sole focus till date was on getting the right actor for the lead role. Now that it’s been finalised, I will work on the rest of the cast,” he had added.
