The graceful Ramya Krishnan is undoubtedly one of the most gorgeous and talented ladies in Southern cinema. A timeless diva in the truest sense, she is held in high regards thanks to her sincere performances, good looks, and power-packed personality. Moreover, she has worked with some of the most popular stars—right from Rajinikanth to Chiranjeevi—and proved that she is a superstar in her own right. Today, as Ramya turns a year older, let us take a quick look at her decorated career.
Born in Chennai, Ramya first rose to fame courtesy her performance in the 1989 release ‘Sutradhharulu’, which was directed by K Vishwanath. Thereafter, she went to establish herself as one biggest/ most sought after female performers in the industry. In 1999, she starred alongside Rajinikanth in ‘Padayappa’ and delivered what many regard as the performance of her career. Some of her other notable films include ‘Kante Kooturne Kanu’ and ‘Ore Kadal’.
Recently, she appeared in SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali 2’ and impressed us with her portrayal of the regal Sivagami.On the personal side of things, she has been married to director Krishna Vamsi since 2003 and the two have a kid. A few weeks ago, Vamsi had said that he will never cast his wife in his movies as he cannot see her as merely an artiste.
On a related note, Ramya currently has some important films in her kitty. They include ‘Thaana Serndha Kootam’ and ‘Sabaash Naidu’. All in all, she is still going strong on the professional front.
