The lovely Regina Cassandra is undoubtedly one of the most gorgeous and elegant stars in Southern cinema today. During her fairly eventful career, she has carved a niche for herself in industry thanks to her sincere performances, good looks and vivacious personality. Moreover, she has proved that she is a stylish person and has given us another reason to love her. Today, as Regina turns a year older, let us take a quick look at her personal life and wish her a happy birthday.
Regina was born on December 13, 1990 in Chennai. After working in a few TV commercials, she made her big screen debut at the age of 16 with ‘’Kanda Naal Mudhal’ and began a new chapter in life. A breezy romantic-comedy, it saw her play the role of a 21-year-old pregnant woman and left fans surprised. Thereafter, she acted with newcomer Yogi in ‘Azhagiya Asura’. However, it did not do too well at the box office. In 2012, her career received a shot in the arm when her first Telugu film ‘Shiva Manasulo Shruti’ opened to a good response from fans and helped her bag the SIIMA best debutante award. Following this, she went on to star in other popular Telugu films such as ‘Power’ and ‘Subramaniyam For Sale’, cementing her position in T-town even further.
In 2016, she impressed fans with her performance in ‘Jyo Achyutananda’ and earned a SIIMA nomination. The film was directed by ‘Srinivas Avasarala’ and also featured Nara Rohit and Naga Shaurya in the lead. Talking about the film, she had told a leading website that she really enjoying working with her co-stars and found the character to be relatable.
“It’s a simple happy go lucky girl’s role that I play in the film. I am sure many girls of today’s generation will identify with my role. This is not my first film with Nara Rohit. It was easy to act with him as we have already acted together before. Naga Shourya is a sweet guy and is very funny. The whole experience on and off screen of this film was beautiful,” she had added.
This year, she has had releases such as ‘Gemini Ganeshanum Suruli Raajanum’ and ‘Nakshatram’. She was last seen in the well-received ‘Balakrishnudu. The film was a romantic action film and saw her work with Nara Rohit again. Interestingly, prior to the film’s release rumours of her dating Nara Rohit began doing the rounds. However, Nara Rohit rubbished these rumours and said that there is nothing between the two.
“Since we have been working together so often, there’s a possibility that someone sparked off a rumour. We share a professional relationship, nothing more,” he had recently told a leading daily.
At present, Regina has ‘Party’, ‘Mr Chandramouli’ and ‘Awe’ in her kitty.
On a related note, Regina considers herself to be an impulsive person and loves enjoying the small joys of life. She is an avid reader and is a big fan of romantic books. Sometime ago, she had told a leading daily that she is an absolute sucker for romance.
“I love reading romance novels written by amateur writers online. I would have read over 300 by now. I especially love the bits, where they look at each other, he pulls her against the door and holds the girl’s hands, etc, I’m a big sucker for romance although I hate flowers, soft toys, my pillow is enough to cuddle up and go to bed,” she had told a daily.
Well, we wish Regina happy birthday and hope that she has a terrific year ahead. Oh, and here are some lovely pics of her.
