It is no secret that Ram Charan is one of the most successful and charismatic stars in Telugu cinema today. During his fairly eventful career, he has won the love of movie buffs thanks to his gripping performances, charming personality and effective screen presence. Moreover, he has impressed fans because of his humble nature and cool attitude. Now, his well-wishers have a big reason to rejoice. In an exciting development, a photo from the shoot location of his eagerly-awaited ‘Rangasthalam’ is creating quite a buzz amongst fans and that too for an awesome reason. In it, he can be seen in a rustic avatar that he carries off like a champ. His serious expressions and ruggedness up the recall value in a big way of his look and add new life to it. We are sure he will do justice to his role in ‘Rangasthalam’.
In case you did not know, ‘Rangasthalam’ is a romantic-drama and has been directed by Sukumar. Its first look poster was released a few days ago and it created quite a buzz amongst fans. In it, the ‘Mega Powerstar’ was seen in a lively new avatar. Interestingly, ‘Rangasthalam’ hits screens in March 2018 and is one of the biggest releases in recent times. Sometime ago, it had received a thumbs up from Chiranjeevi who labelled it a ‘classic in the making’.
“Recently, Chiranjeevi along with Rajamouli and others saw the rushes of the film and were surprised to see that the film has come out beautifully, almost like a classic. He is satisfied with the way the film has shaped up,” a source had told a leading daily.
As it so happens, Ram Charan will be sharing screen space with Samantha Akkini for the first time in ‘Rangasthalam’. And, as expected, this fresh pair has created a buzz amongst fans. Sam will be seen in a de-glam look in this one. The lovely lady—who tied the knot with sweetheart Naga Chaitanya—is going through a terrific phase on the professional front these days. Her last two films namely ‘Mersal’ and ‘Raju Gari Gadhi 2’ were hits at the box office. And, we hope that ‘Ranasthalam’ too spells good news for her.
On a related note, Ram Charan did not have any releases this year. He was last seen in ‘Dhruva’ which did well at the box office. It was a remake of ‘Thani Oruvan’ and featured RC in the role of a cop. A thriller, it also featured Arvind Swami and Rakul Preet in the lead. Arvind was a part of the original version as well.
At present, besides ‘Rangasthalam’, he is also busy with his production venture ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’. The film is a period drama and is being directed by Surender Reddy. It features Chiranjeevi in the lead and is slated to hit screens next year. The rest of the cast includes names like Nayanthara, Amitabh Bachchan and Sudeep.
Recently, it was reported that Bhojpuri actor Ravi Kishan will be playing the antagonist in the film. He is best known for essaying villainous roles in Telugu films like ‘Kick 2’ and ‘Race Gurram’.
“Ravi Kishan is playing an important role. The director is confident about him and has given him a good character. Ravi Kishan has always been full of gratitude for Surender Reddy, so he accepted the film immediately without even asking anything. It’s a big project and more than that, acting opposite Chiranjeevi is a big opportunity for Ravi Kishan,” a source had told a leading daily.
AR Rahman was originally slated to compose music for ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ but opted out because of prior commitments.
